सवारी साधन चोरी हुनु संसारका धेरै ठाउँहरुमा बढ्दो समस्याको रुपमा देखा परिरहेको छ। नेपालमा तथ्यांक नै हेर्ने हो भने प्रत्येक वर्ष सवारी साधन चोरीको संख्या बढ्दो देखिन्छ। काठमाडौँ महानगर ट्राफिक प्रहरी महाशाखामा आर्थिक वर्ष सन् २०१६-१७ मा १ हजार ३० सवारीसाधन चोरीका घटना दर्ता भएका थिए र प्रहरीले चोरीका गाडीमध्ये १६८ मात्रै बरामद गरेको थियो भने १५ जनालाई पक्राउ गरेको थियो। त्यसपछिको आर्थिक वर्ष २०१७-१८ मा सवारी साधन चोरीका घटना १ हजार ३ सय ८५ थिए । प्रहरीले तीमध्ये २ सय ५१ गाडी मात्रै बरामद गरेको थियो भने १७ जनालाई मात्रै पक्राउ गर्न सफल भएको थियो। त्यसैगरी आर्थिक वर्ष २०१८-१९ मा १ हजार ६११ सवारीसाधन चोरीका घटना भएका थिए भने १८९ सवारीसाधन बरामद र ८१ जना पक्राउ परेका थिए। यस तथ्यांकले एकातिर चोरीको संख्या बढिरहेको देखाउँछ भने अर्कातिर चोरी भएको सबै प्रहरीले समेत गाडी फिर्ता ल्याउन नसकिरहेको अवस्था देखाउँछ। त्यसकारणले पनि चोरी हुन बाट बच्ने उपायहरुमा बिशेष ध्यान दिनु पर्ने हुन्छ। (स्रोत: काठमाडौँ पोस्ट)
